It’s Friday night and I still have yet to get supplies for making Halloween snacks. This weekend will be a mixture of Hurricane Ida aftermath and scrambling to complete Halloween DIY decorations and making spooky treats.
“This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Pumpkins scream in the dead of night.”
– This Is Halloween
Pumpkin carving is high up on my Halloween traditions list, whether it be done last minute or not. This year it will definitely be done last minute! Do you carve pumpkins for Halloween? Pumpkin carving parties can be a lot of fun as well!
“Then the door was open and the wind appeared. The candles blew and then disappeared.”
– Blue Oyster Cult
Throughout time on this Earth many people, religious or not, have lit candles in memory of their loved ones. During modern times battery operated candles have also been used. Battery operated candles have a much lower risk of causing a fire. Some believe that the veil between worlds, that of the living and that of the dead, is thinnest during All Hallows Eve. It is because of that belief that they choose to light a candle during this time of the year for their loved ones.
