Opinions are strictly my own.
Vaccines are being done all over yet Covid cases are on the rise again, which leaves us to ponder why. The idea behind the vaccine is that people who get it won’t end up in the hospital and the chances of getting it are decreased. It is similar to the flu shot. It does not make you immune but hopefully will keep the amount of cases controlled. Side effects are another topic altogether.
So, why are cases still rising? Possibly new strains that aren’t covered by the vaccine. People aren’t treating this virus as serious as it is. Lack of wearing masks and social distancing by non-vaccinated and vaccinated people alike. Large gatherings don’t help either. We need to come together and respect everyone we are around. What if you don’t have symptoms but are a carrier of the virus and there is a cancer patient nearby or touches the same surface while you act as though the virus isn’t a big deal or doesn’t exist? What if the cancer patient is also on chemotherapy and now because they are infected they have lost their chemo treatment for a while and their way of life and tumor(s) have gone down hill. What if that is the cause for their life officially ending now? If you don’t want to acknowledge said virus then you should at least respect other people and their lively hoods. There are too many people dying. It could be you or the next person that gets it. How would you feel if your spouse, child, sister, etc. were infected due to someone being so careless? Let that sink in a moment.
Recently, I was diagnosed with Covid. Unfortunately, my Mother is sick now as well. We live in a bubble. We have groceries delivered, rarely see family, disinfect and clean like crazy, wear masks, face shields and social distance. What happened then? Our bubble was tampered with due to disregard, irresponsibility and lack of concern. For privacy purposes I won’t reveal the location, etc.
