Dunkin Drink Inspiration
On one of Dunkin’s instagram stories yesterday a Dunkin’ worker created a smoothie, or what I like to call not so aqua, using Dunkin’ coffee. So, in light of that post I made a little creation before going to work. I used the single serving cup that attaches to a Ninja blender. Ingredients: 1/2 Frozen banana 1/4 Cup cold brew coffee 2 Tablespoons ChocZero chocolate syrup 2 Splashes Nutpods french vanilla oat creamer 4 – 5 Ice cubes 1/4 Cup milk (optional) The recipe is very simple. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency. For the cold brew coffee I used instant coffee mixed…

Oat Trail Game Changer
Nutpods completely saved me when I was searching for a dairy free and sugar free creamer for coffee, etc. My favorite is hazelnut because… well, who doesn’t like hazelnut? Also, hazelnut helps to cover up how overpowering the coconut flavor can be at times. The original flavor works great when making various soups that require cream. Recently Nutpods joined the Oat Milk trail craze. After a lot of debating I caved and ordered the Oat Creamer Variety Pack, which consists of an original flavor and a french vanilla flavor. Over the weekend I tried french vanilla in a cup of regular coffee. Wow, what a game changer! Not only did…

Closing Time
It is with great sadness that my local Dunkin’ has chosen to close down. Frozen Coffee Friday won’t be the same. The COVID-19 pandemic needs to speed up the healing pace so many of our favorite places can reopen again. The delivery option is great for foodies until food places start shutting down. Twiddling our thumbs patiently will have to do. At least the employees can get a break from the proximity of each other. Today has both ups and downs. Dunkin’ temporarily closed but there is good news on Yong Mi’s end. For those of you that don’t already follow, Yong Mi is new to the fitness community and…

Weekend Quarantine
Quarantine is starting to drive extroverts crazy. However, introverts are in their happy place. I am definitely an introvert. Quarantine has proved useful this weekend between getting a lot of things done in the house and dipping back into some old hobbies. Making strawberry preserves was the first old hobby that was found again. The last time I made strawberry preserves it was the no sugar route, which consisted of strawberries and chia seeds. This time it was frozen strawberries and pure honey (to replace sugar). While pure honey is still sweet it isn’t quite as bad as sugar and does have nutritional value. What is something other than biscuits…

Protein Muffin On-The-Go
Busy workers are always looking for some form of food that’s on-the-go, especially breakfast. One of Dunkin’s latest creations is their Protein Muffin, complete with pumpkin seeds on top. The protein muffin isn’t without flaws. Just like a lot of on-the-go muffins this one is high on the calorie and sugar end. However, it is also high in protein and potassium. If you’re like me and typically only eat half of a muffin then the amount of calories and sugar are cut in half. If it’s the only thing you’re eating for breakfast the calories aren’t too hard to swallow. Taste wise, Dunkin’s protein muffin is on the yummy side.…

Free Donut Fridays
Good news Dunkin’ Fans! Dunkin’ Donut is giving customers a free donut every Friday in March! What’s the catch? You have to purchase a beverage and you must also be a member of Dunkin’s DD Perks program. The program is free, fortunately. To become a DD Perks member download the Dunkin’ APP on your phone and either purchase a gift card or upload your current gift card to your account. When purchasing a beverage and donut be sure to use the APP to make your purchase by allowing the cashier to scan your order through the APP, which will deduct the purchased amount from a gift card. A major bonus…

Overnight Oatmeal… Perhaps Not
Being a big fan of oatmeal I still had yet to try overnight oatmeal… until a couple days ago. Overnight oatmeal is made by placing oats, sweetener of choice, any type of milk and any additional extras (i.e. fruit, nuts, spices) in a sealed tight container such as a mason jar. After placing the items in the jar, seal it tight and shake the jar like crazy until everything is thoroughly stirred. Place the jar in the refrigerator overnight and in the morning the oatmeal is ready to go. It can be eaten chilled or hot. After trying the overnight oatmeal that I made something seemed off. The flavor was…

Brownie Batter, Oh My
https://news.dunkindonuts.com/news/sweet-and-easy-ways-to-celebrate-valentines-day-at-dunkin-donuts If you haven’t tried Dunkin’s latest donut then you are missing out! For the Valentine season they introduced two different kinds of heart shaped donuts. One donut is filled with brownie batter, also called Brownie Batter. The other donut is filled with bavarian kreme and is called Cupid’s Choice, which is especially cute for Valentine’s Day. I haven’t tried Cupid’s Choice but I have tried Brownie Batter. Do you know that feeling of pure joy when licking the spoon after making a batch of homemade brownies? That’s the feeling that takes place while eating a Brownie Batter donut. Mix that in with an already great Dunkin’ donut and it’s…
