Easter Vibes
Hope everyone’s Easter and any other holiday you celebrate went well this past weekend! My weekend involved a backyard sunburn, Easter cooking, laundry and Xbox time. Every year for Easter I always dye eggs, whether they’re used for an egg hunt, games or for eating. This year I didn’t have to do anything to the eggs after boiling them. The process was almost the same. Place the eggs in a pot of water with a cloth (to help prevent cracking) and bring to a boil. About twenty minutes later dyed eggs were discovered… complete with markings as well! The lazy hack for dying eggs seems to be placing a Christmas…

Closing Time
It is with great sadness that my local Dunkin’ has chosen to close down. Frozen Coffee Friday won’t be the same. The COVID-19 pandemic needs to speed up the healing pace so many of our favorite places can reopen again. The delivery option is great for foodies until food places start shutting down. Twiddling our thumbs patiently will have to do. At least the employees can get a break from the proximity of each other. Today has both ups and downs. Dunkin’ temporarily closed but there is good news on Yong Mi’s end. For those of you that don’t already follow, Yong Mi is new to the fitness community and…

Dear Me
Dear 13 Year Old Me, Life will put you through many trials and tribulations. There will be many paths to take. You put a lot of faith and trust in people. Don’t expect the same thing of people that you are willing to give. You are unique in the things you like and your thought process. Don’t let the opinions of others change that. Be you and only you. Life will be hard but it will also prepare you for harder moments in your future. If you can learn to put your trust in only those that are worth it, be confident and always be yourself then there is much…

Weekend Quarantine
Quarantine is starting to drive extroverts crazy. However, introverts are in their happy place. I am definitely an introvert. Quarantine has proved useful this weekend between getting a lot of things done in the house and dipping back into some old hobbies. Making strawberry preserves was the first old hobby that was found again. The last time I made strawberry preserves it was the no sugar route, which consisted of strawberries and chia seeds. This time it was frozen strawberries and pure honey (to replace sugar). While pure honey is still sweet it isn’t quite as bad as sugar and does have nutritional value. What is something other than biscuits…

Inspiration For the Masses
For those of you that watch reality shows you might be familiar with the TV show My Big Fat Fabulous Life. There are very few reality shows that I watch. My Big Fat Fabulous Life and Chrisley Knows Best are my favorites. My Big Fat Fabulous Life is focused around Whitney Way Thore’s journey in life. There have been 6 seasons so far, I believe. My Mother has been watching the show ever since it started but I didn’t start watching it until around 2 years ago. We always watch the show together now. Whitney Way Thore is a huge inspiration. She has had such a long journey with her…

Listen & Act
The coronavirus is causing health issues, economic issues, etc. now. Let us all try to remember that even if we don’t feel like heeding the advice of healthcare officials all that does is send not only yourself but other people downhill. Please, please, be sure to follow the advice of healthcare officials when it comes to social distance, quarantine, preventing and treating the coronavirus. If we don’t keep from spreading the virus as much as possible then the amount of people with the virus will simply increase. Coronavirus is highly contagious, so please don’t think that just because you have a strong immune system you are not at risk. You…

Coronavirus Taking Over
COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, has caused a world wide panic due to the number of outbreaks and deaths. While it is a concern for everyone it is a bigger concern for senior citizens and those with a compromised immune system. Please, everyone, be mindful of others. If you have any symptoms of a cold or flu please don’t go near others if at all possible. It is imperative that we try our best not to spread viruses when possible. Personally speaking, the employees where I work get sick more often than they should due to customers coming in with the flu when they can 100% avoid going into…

Bookworm Moment #316
Walking into Books-A-Million over the weekend after not having been in a bookstore in a couple years is a thrilling moment for a bookworm. The not so thrilling moment? The prices! Also, the Books-A-Million location that I go to no longer has a huge book bargain section, which was my favorite section. Upon entering the store I made my way over to the stationary section before book browsing when something caught my eye. There was an astrology section. It was complete with stationary, astrology books, candles, bookmarks, etc. Of course most of the Scorpio items were sold out. Just my luck! The first bookshelf took me by surprise. It was…

Flu Bug Begone
Hey Readers! Sorry, I’ve been MIA for a week or more. As hard as I tried not to get the flu it eventually tackled me. One of the biggest downsides to working in an office with a flow of customers is having customers constantly knowingly coming into the office with the flu and spreading said flu. Needless to say getting the flu is not fun! I’m still not fully recovered but getting there. As soon as symptoms began to appear a trip to Walgreens was needed. After going on a virus shopping spree it must have looked like I bought out the pharmaceutical department to the cashier. Walgreens stocks must…
