Pop-Up Meet Up For Millet!
If you were in LaPlace, LA. late this morning then you might have come across a Pop-Up Meet Up event. The Pop-Up Meet Up was to show your support for Leandre Millet. For those that don’t know Leandre Millet, he is a private practicing attorney in LaPlace, LA. He is the Assistant District Attorney in the 40th Judicial District running for Judge (Division B) in St. John the Baptist Parish. Millet is humble, fair and cares about the people of St. John the Baptist Parish and beyond. Those qualities do not only encompass him as an attorney but also as a person in general. The Pop-Up Meet Up took place…

A Court of Thorns and Roses
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas was published a few years ago and is still going strong. I discovered it on GoodReads some time before it came out due to reading Maas’s Throne of Glass series. Recently, I noticed a second wave of newcomers to the ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) series. With that being said I won’t post spoilers. While the Throne of Glass series is Maas’s most popular series ACOTAR is definitely my favorite series written by her. She pulls you into a world that is unexpected. Don’t let the book cover fool you nor the synopsis. Not everything, nor everyone is what it seems. In…

Cobra Kai Conquest
Season 1 and 2 of the streaming series Cobra Kai has been out for a long while. Recently, I binged both seasons. If you’re like me then you didn’t realize that it was a sequel to the Karate Kid movies. I thought it was just another miscellaneous show to shelf for later. Oh, how very wrong I was. The series takes place 34 years after the original Karate Kid movie. Don’t start thinking too negatively on that idea yet! Two of the original main cast members, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, are also main cast members in Cobra Kai with their rivalry fierce as ever. This time around they aren’t…

Health Insurance Problems
While many people seem to rave about Obamacare/Marketplace Health Insurance I have never experienced anything good with said insurance. Prior to Obamacare my health insurance premium was $90 per month with a $5,000 hospital deductible. General Doctor visits were $25 and generic prescription medications were $5. When Obamacare came out the cost of insurance increased to over $400 per month for myself. The amount of coverage decreased by half and I could not see almost any Doctor that I wanted to see. Since then I have been without insurance. My Mother had Obamacare for 1 1/2 years. Between premiums, co-pays, etc. she dumped $30,000 into Obamacare with horrific coverage. Prior…

HP 17z Laptop Adapter Fix
For those of you that have a HP 17z Laptop you might have run into a problem with the adapter’s blue tip (the portion that plugs into the laptop itself). Sometimes the pin inside of the blue tip will bend and become flushed against the inside of the blue tip, making it impossible to plug into the HP 17z Laptop. After a lot of trial and error I discovered a quick fix for this! You will need one of the most useful and basic sewing tools out there… a seam ripper! The thickness of the “needle” is perfect and the handle enables you to work with the pin inside of…

Blueberry Sweet Rolls Win
In an attempt to budget, and up my bread making skills, before the week starts I have been making breakfast for the week. Started off making protein muffins for a while, which included blueberries. Last week’s breakfast item was Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake Scones. This week’s breakfast will be Blueberry Sweet Rolls. Notice a theme here? I discovered the recipe for the blueberry sweet rolls on Instagram on Nourishing’s account. It was somewhat of a repost from Peanut Butter & Jilly’s Instagram. This is the only recipe I’ve tried from Peanut Butter & Jilly but this one is without a doubt amazing… imagine a cinnamon roll without the cinnamon and the…

Five Things I Learned When My Parent Passed Away
Today’s post is going to be a little bit personal but hopefully it helps someone that needs to hear, or rather read, it. My Father passed away from cancer, which some of you already know. Nothing prepared us for that. In light of the circumstances here are five things that I learned when my Father passed away. Saying Goodbye – When it’s time to say goodbye it is never as simple as you think it will be in your head. You can play it out in your mind a thousand times and it will never be exactly what you think. At some point it will never be simple and it…

Taste Test
Hey Readers! So many people today follow so many different diets. Keto is possibly the most popular diet of them all at the moment. I do not in any way endorse said diets. Everyone has their own reason for eating a particular way or not so particular way. All of that aside, let’s get to reviewing some health food products that I’ve tried lately! Up first is the most recent snack bar that was purchased during pandemic time. It has been so hard to locate healthy snacks at the grocery store as well as through Amazon Pantry. By chance I came across the Health Warrior Chia Bar in a chocolate…

Ghosting Social Media
Hey Readers, Over the week the blog has been silent and I more or less ghosted social media this weekend. I was in desperate need of a break. Sometimes life gets crazy and the hot mess of social media adds to the pile. Happy belated Mother’s Day to all of the Mother’s out there! My Mother received an interesting Mother’s Day gift early from me. On Friday flowers were delivered… along with a pack of toilet paper! Needless to say there was plenty of amusement with that gift considering the toilet paper issue in the world right now. Mother’s Day dinner consisted of lasagna, portioned out and decorated restaurant style.…
